MarketSmall may sound like an interesting name.  So what does it mean?

MarketSmall is for small business

Small Businesses are a significant part of the American economy and a make an incredible contribution to our local identity.  As technology and globalization have changed how the public interacts with businesses, many businesses have struggled to keep up.  MarketSmall chronicles the trends in marketing small businesses and provides thoughtful commentary on ways in which we can increase access to marketing resources for small businesses.  MarketSmall stands up for the little man; the local florist, butcher, gallery, real estate agent, or boutique.

MarketSmall advocates targeted marketing  

For many years the marketing of businesses revolved around a company's ability to engage in mass marketing.  In recent years, however, the efficacy of mass media has lost it's potency.  People have become less responsive as viewership is now increasingly divided among a greater number of networks and media outlets, and people are turning more towards community in their shopping behaviors.  People require more touchpoints before recalling your business, need to be encountered in a timely and relevant manner, and will likely respond more positively if community can be developed around the product or services.    

While mass marketing has it's place, it should not be the primary tool of the average small business.  MarketSmall is about targeted and interactive marketing. 

MarketSmall is about small budgets  

Competent marketing should not require huge budgets.  MarketSmall works to provide resources for small business owners to develop a vision for their company, measure the market's potential response, and develop platforms for engaging customers and delivering the message.  Our goal is to identify the tools that provide the best return on investment. 

MarketSmall is in Sacramento  

MarketSmall consults and manages accounts for companies throughout California, however, Sacramento is our home.  While excited about business opportunities wherever they may appear, we remain actively involved in the business community in the Greater Sacramento Area, frequenting local chambers, Tweet-ups, and other social media gatherings.  We are proud to call Sacramento home.
